Calizona RV Park is right in the Mojave Desert in Southern California. It boarders Arizona and Nevada. The summer temps are very hot (for me). We arrived in September of 2018 and it was still 118 to 120 degrees. Once October rolled around the temps dropped and it is a very nice winter destination. The rates are very reasonable, only $35.00 per night for a full hook up site. They also offer water and 30 amp power sites for $30.00 and dry camping sites for $10.00. There are also weekly, monthly and seasonal rates. There are three sets of restrooms with free showers, and three laundry rooms.
There are lots of fun things to do and see in the area and we kept ourselves busy all season long. There are still a few things I would like to do when we return next season that we didn’t get to do this season. Please see the Our Adventures page to view photos and read about the areas biggest attractions.
The park itself is mainly a Snowbird park although there are plenty of spaces for shorter stays. When the residents started rolling in it felt like our family was growing. This park has the best group of people I could have imagined. It truly fells like one big family. We have met some lifelong friends here this winter. The owners of the park are amazing people to work for. This was our first workcamping jobs and we could not have asked for a better fit with the owners and residents.
The residents of the park are very active. We have potlucks, karaoke, happy hour every evening, bowling, golfing, poker, pokino, bingo, a horseshoe tournament, morning coffee, donuts twice a month, a block party, high tea, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve parties and a weenie roast on the river. Groups of people get together for rides through the desert on side x sides or Jeeps, great motorcycle rides to some of the most beautiful places. No matter what is going on or what we are doing we are always having fun.
I would highly recommend this park for both short stays or seasonally.
