We spent four days in Commerce Georgia. This town is one of my favorite places but I could be a little bias because my younger brother James Wascher lives here. He also happens to be the City Manager of Commerce. I’m a little proud of him.
We got to spend quite a bit of time with my Nephews Thomas and William. We went to Williams baseball game and his team won, we went to Thomas’s Boy Scouts event and we got to see him cross over. They spent the night with us and we watched Bumblebee and hit Cracker Barrel for breakfast the next morning. They are such sweet boys and I don’t get to see them often enough.
We went to a BBQ at my brother and his amazing Wife Tabitha’s house, I haven’t seen them in a couple years and it was great to spend time with them. We got to meet some of their friends, visit and play with the kids. We also got to see Tabitha’s Dad, Teri, who I haven’t seen in several years. Our summer job is only about 45 minutes from them so I am hoping to spend a lot of time with them this summer.
On Sunday April 28, 2019 the City of Commerce hosted Speed Week, we spent the entire day down town. The bike races were amazing, man those guys move fast on those bikes. It was a great event. They had some vendors, music and all the local restaurants and pubs were open. There were quite a few people there cheering on the people racing. They even had a race for the kids. It was a lot of fun and a great way to spend the day with family.
Down Town Commerce is one of those awesome little southern towns. You can walk around the downtown area, shop, eat and get a coffee or adult beverage. Everyone is very sweet and friendly. It was great to spend the day with my brother, sister-in-law and nephews. If I ever lived anywhere but Washington State it would be here. I love small southern towns. I plan on spending a lot more time in Commerce Georgia over the summer.
