One of the things we miss most while living a full time RV life is family. Most of our family is back in Washington State with a few scattered in other areas of the country. We are lucky that we get to spend this summer in Georgia close to my younger brother and his amazing family. We are also blessed that a lot of our family got to fly in to spend the first week of June with us.

We started our week together celebrating Mike’s big 50 and Jenna’s 27th. We all invaded James and Tabitha’s house, we had BBQ, drinks and cake. It was great to see family and friends all together. Besides the family that flew in from Washington (Marshall, Lexi, Kim, CJ, Jenna and Makenna) we also got to see some old friends that also live in Georgia, friends that we met when we all lived in Washington 20 plus years ago. We all had so much fun and it was great of my brother and his wife to host for all of us.

We had a very busy but amazingly fun week. We went to see the The Worlds Largest Mattress in Jefferson, GA. Poor Makenna broke her arm on the mattress just minutes after we got there so our time was cut a little short. We spent a lot of time swimming and hanging out. One morning we had breakfast at Cream & Shuga. Cream & Shuga is in the old Jefferson Jail and we got to eat breakfast in one of the cells, and yes they did let us out. It is a very cool coffee house that has a breakfast menu, coffee and pastries.

Several of us (Marshall, Lexi, Kim, CJ, Jenna and I) planned on all getting Georgia themed tattoos, I have been wanting to get something behind my ear and I decided a Georgia Peach would be perfect. Lexi got her Georgia Peach behind her ear also. Kim and Jenna went with the Georgia Peach w/ flowers on their arms, CJ got the Georgia Bull Dog and Marshall discovered fire fly’s while he was here and thought they were really cool so he got a Fire Fly on his arm. If you are ever near Helen, GA and want some new ink go see Jesse at Mine Shaft Tattoo and Piercing. His shop is very professional and clean, he is a great guy and he does amazing work.

Although any outing with this many people is considered a big outing, one of our biggest was our day spent at Zoo Atlanta. I love going to the zoo and we had so much fun. The weather was perfect, not to hot and not to muggy. Most of the animals were out so we could see them and some even looked like they were posing for the camera. Mike got a new camera for his birthday so he took tons of pictures, over 100. You can see all of them by clicking her. My favorite of all the animals were the Pandas and the Orangutan. The panda’s were in their inside enclosure so we had to see them through the glass but the orangutans were out playing and posing for the camera.

It was a great week, I really do miss my family and it was great to see them. Marshall and Lexi spent a few nights with us then on Thursday Baby flew in from Alaska to spend a month with us so they went to stay and James and Tabitha’s with the rest of the gang.
