Well we are getting ready to leave Needles for the summer. On April 1st we will start our journey to Cleveland, GA for the summer. We are excited for a new adventure but we are going to miss the new friends we have made here at Calizona RV Park.

We have made so many memories and had so many fun adventures while we were here and we are looking forward to more next season when we return.

There are some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen here. They are just amazing. The desert is beautiful in a completely different way then I’m use to back home.

One of my favorite places to visit was Oatman, AZ. We took everyone that visited there. The town is pretty much ran by the donkeys. They are all over the streets, side roads and the road leading to Oatman. Traffic is usually backed up because they are standing in the middle of the road and they refuse to move. You can purchase pellets and feed them, the little ones have stickers on there forehead asking you not to feed them because they are still nursing. One of my favorite places in Oatman is the Oatman Hotel. It is a restaurant / bar and they have great food. The cool thing about this place is there are $1 bills all over the walls, clings, stairs and any surface you can imagine to staple a $1 bill. You can see all the pics of Oatman above.

Marshall came to visit the beginning of October for my 50th birthday. While he was here we made the 3.5 hour drive to the Grand Canyon. It is one of the most beauitful places I have ever seen. The pictures do not do it justice. If you haven’t been there you need to put it on your bucket list.

Another one of my favorite places here is Lake Havasu. There are many things to do there. The history of the London Bridge is amazing and how Lake Havasu City came to be. We have been there several time since we came to Needles. It’s only about 45 minutes away. When my sister came to visit we took her down there, Mike and I took a boat tour from Rubba Duck Safari for our anniversary. If you ever get a chance it’s a great tour and our tour guide was awesome. You get your own little boat and you follow the tour guide around the lake. After our tour we went to Burgers By the Bride and had an amazing dinner. When my parents came to visit for a month we went back to Lake Havasu, at this time the Balloon Festival was happening. That was so cool, the balloons would touch down on the water then raise back up and go over the bridge.

One of my favorite things about Needles, CA. are the murals all over the town. When Melody came to visit her and I walked all over town taking pictures of the murals. At one time Needles, CA was quite the bustling town, it has a lot of interesting history. I hope it comes back to life sometime in the near future.

One of the things Needles is most popular for is Rout 66. While a lot of the original road can only be reached by off road type vehicles, there are still parts of it that are kept up for vehicle travel. Melody and I took the Jeep out to find some of the original road that is no longer used. It was really cool, you can still see the center stripe down parts of the road, much of it has been washed or eroded away. We of course had a great time.

We are going to miss everyone here over the summer but we will be back next season.
