After we got our RV parked and set up we were starving and wanted something local, not a chain restaurant. The lady at the front desk suggested Slap Ya Momma’s. Mike immediately said that’s the place we’re going. I don’t think he cared what kind of food they served, he just liked the name.

The restaurant was just a few blocks down the beach from where we were. They have a large parking lot with an elevator for those that can’t make it up the stairs to the entrance. It sits right on the beach and has both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside because it was very windy, the storm was rolling in. The atmosphere is a very fun and relaxing beach theme. The staff were super friendly and on top of things. The service was quick.

We had fried pickles with ranch dipping sauce to start with, I love fried pickles and these were great. We decided to split the BBQ Platter. It came with bbq ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken, wings, brisket and sausage. It also came with four pieces of toast and two sides each. Mike had coleslaw and baked beans, and I had a side salad and coleslaw. The BBQ was amazing. The ribs fell off the bone, the brisket was tinder and everything had just the right amount of bbq sauce. The baked beans were also very good as was the coleslaw.

I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.
