We spent our first full day in Savanna at Tybee Island, it was about a half hour drive from our RV park, it was a great day.
We had a blast at Tybee Island, the beach was amazing. We spent the day walking up and down the beach, walking out on the pier, playing in the water and just chillin on the beach. Neither one of us had ever seen the Atlantic Ocean (except for maybe from an airplane), another thing we can check off our bucket list. We saw a couple jelly fish (they were dead) and a sting ray (we think he was dead also) we got a couple pictures, kinda morbid I know, but those who know us understand.
There are several things to do out on the island. There is Tybee Island Light Station and Museum, Tybee Beach Pier and Pavilion, Tybee Island Marine Science Center, shopping, dining and lots of vacation rentals. You can see all there is to do here. We spent our day on the beach and the Pier and Pavilion. We originally were going to go to the Tybee Island Light Station and museum but we decided we needed a day of relaxation on the beach.
Fannie’s on the Beach
We walked down and had a drink and lunch at Fannie’s on the Beach. It was such a beautiful day we decided to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Mike ordered a Big Ole’ Mary (Bloody Mary) and that was a meal in itself. it came with a Bacon Cheeseburger Slider, and lots of other fixings. I had a Pineapple Cocomo, it was served in a frozen pineapple and had two coconut shrimp. Both drinks were very good. We did also have lunch and the food was amazing.
I highly recommend putting Tybee Island on your bucket list. Such a beautiful relaxing place to spend the day.
